Intern-Corporate Compliance

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

The Corporate Compliance department provides support to enable business growth while minimizing risk by evaluating new areas of opportunity as well as changes to existing business functions, ensuring compliance with regulations, industry standards, and internal corporate policies. The Corporate Compliance department’s focus areas include corporate records management, FERC and NERC compliance, Department of Transportation compliance, corporate governance, and other relevant regulatory compliance.  The Compliance Intern (Fall/Winter) will ensure adherence to legal standards, industry regulations, and internal policies by assisting with dispositions and records storage needs for the internal records management program.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Documentation & Reporting: Assist with general data entry related to storage of corporate records.  
Records Support: Assist with organization of physical records in preparation for long-term, offsite storage.  
Performs any other related duties required or assigned by the Manager – Corporate Compliance.  
Maintain awareness of and compliance with applicable laws and regulations from various regulatory entities, internal policies, procedures, and directives. Ensure ongoing monitoring and timely incorporation of any changes to maintain adherence to compliance standards

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Enrollment or completion of a high school, GED, or college program. No college degree required.

The employee must regularly lift, carry, and move up to 60 pounds and have the ability to spend long periods of time standing, walking, bending, stretching/reaching, climbing step stools or ladders, and pushing loaded carts or hand trucks.    Work activities allow for a moderate amount of diversity in the performance of tasks.    While performing the functions of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, or hear; frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and color vision. 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.   Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.  Ability to work independently.   Basic computer skills.
