GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

Arkansas Electric Cooperative Corporation (AECC) is an organization with a rich history and a bright future. As a leader in the energy industry, we look to our employees to help us grow, change, and provide power to over 500,000 members of our 17 electric distribution cooperatives. An Engineering Intern assists in various areas of Power Production and Delivery in AECC’s Engineering department. We’re looking for someone who can maintain a high degree of situational awareness to meet continually changing conditions with a fresh and adaptable approach. In this position, you will be given the opportunity to work alongside peers who are versatile, enthusiastic, and strive to push forward AECC’s mission.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide technical support to Power Delivery Team via Microsoft applications, SharePoint and Adobe Acrobat.  
  • Assist in data collection and data cleansing of non-NERC transmission assets.  
  • Assist in collecting, organizing, and maintaining test evidence for all non-NERC transmission assets.  
  • Assist with Power Delivery Reliability records management to ensure that all records are retained in correct network location.  
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of the mobile data collection system by creating forms structures, populating data sources, and setting up automatic data filing and destinations.  
  • Provide administrative support by helping to align AECC asset naming conventions within EAMS and Excel trackers.  
  • Assist in the development and organization of testing materials for Powe Delivery technician skills assessment.  
  • Assist in creating requisitions and purchase orders for District Managers.  
  • Keeps supervisor informed at all times of matters important to the Cooperative, particularly where member cooperatives or other power supplies are involved.  
  • Attends seminars and workshops on job related subjects as directed.  
  • Assist and provide administrative support to Power Delivery staff in the performance of their duties with technical and other assistance as directed.  
  • Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.  
  • Maintain awareness of and compliance with applicable laws and regulations from various regulatory entities, internal policies, procedures, and directives. Ensure ongoing monitoring and timely incorporation of any changes to maintain adherence to compliance standards.  

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Hight School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Pursuing a degree in Mathematics, Engineering Technology, Computer Science or related field.
  • Valid state driver’s license.
  • Technologically adept and advanced Microsoft Office especially excel.
  • Exceptional analytical, mathematical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Extremely detailed and accuracy-oriented.
  • Self-starter and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to learn and utilize new data soft wear Able to work well in somewhat challenging weather conditions to support plant testing activities.
